Description:  A botanist and professor and dean at Yale, Sinnott was interested in art and architecture, particularly New England meetinghouses and churches.  The collection includes correspondence, background notes, collected printed matter, and other papers, relating to early meetinghouses and churches of New England and Sinnott's book, Meetinghouse and Church in Early New England (1963); together with ca. 1200 photos, mostly by Jerauld A. Manter (b. 1889).
