The New Haven Museum announces the election of four new members to its Board of Directors. The new Directors, elected at the Museum’s annual meeting on December 10, 2009, are: Peter Clement of Madison CT, George Rapport also of Madison CT; Priscilla Searles of Orange CT, and Cosema W. (Sally) Viscount of North Haven CT.

Peter Clement, a practicing architect for 35 years, first with Herbert S. Newman and then with Tai Soo Kim, has worked on buildings at Yale, Colgate, Eastman School of Music and other schools and colleges. He has served on the boards of the Children’s Center, New Haven, and the Board of Cornerstone, New Haven. At the same time, his interest in houses led him to renovations and additions to houses in New Haven and the Shoreline.

George Rapport is a banker who held various positions with Chase Manhattan Bank until 2001, last serving as Managing Director of Private Banking. Since then he has worked for Nimir Petroleum Ltd. as Sr. Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Knightsbridge Investments Ltd. as Director and Deputy Chairman.  He has served on many boards including the International Center of Photography in New York.

Priscilla Searles has been a writer and researcher at Business New Haven for 16 years. She also served as executive director of Fort Nathan Hale Restoration Projects. A previous director for 14 years of the New Haven Colony Historical Society, as the New Haven Museum was then called, she headed its Education Committee.

Sally Viscount has served as head of volunteer services for the C & O Canal National Park in Washington DC, under the National Park Service. She has also served as President of the New Haven Garden Club and of the North End Club in New Haven.

The New Haven Museum and Historical Society is located at 114 Whitney Ave., New Haven, and is open Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. An admission is charged except for the first Sunday of each month, when the Museum is open to the public free of charge from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
